Todd Reifers – Landscape

February 26, 2012 by Keith Austin

“Landscape” by Todd Reifers – Oil – Acquired 1994

“I hope my work
sparks a memory
or the viewer
relates in some
way so it takes
them to a
different place.
The whole
essence of why
I paint is to
entertain people
who want to
think.”

Todd Reifers, who dubs himself a 20th century impressionist, is a Lafayette native who first studied art at the age of seven from Sister Rufmia, who gave free lessons on Saturday mornings at Lafayette’s St. Elizabeth Hospital He went on to scholarship studies at Indianapolis’ John Herron School of Art, Cincinnati Art Academy and Kansas City Art Institute. Reifers is a retained artist for It Takes Two, Inc. greeting card company, LeSeuer, Minnesota. His clients include Oprah Winfrey, racer Rick Mears, Eli Lilly & Co., Quill Corp. and Tramwell/Crow Co., among others
