WELCOME ARTISTS! JOIN US TO CELEBRATE OUR 35TH ART FAIR
 

The ’Round the Fountain Art Fair Committee eagerly awaits your application to join an accomplished group of artists who will exhibit at the 35th Annual Fair on May 24, 2008. We hope you will join us for this celebration of fine art, fellowship, and the support of arts education.

The ’Round the Fountain Art Fair began in 1973, inspired by a desire to bring “fine art at affordable prices” to the Tippecanoe Court House Square.

Today, the “Special Day in May” reigns as one of the premier juried art fairs in the Midwest — a destination location for artists and art lovers alike on the Saturday before Memorial Day, rain or shine.

This annual celebration of fine art and fellowship also allows the volunteer art fair committee the opportunity to use proceeds from the fair to enrich and enhance community life.

Over the years, funds have been to help renovate and maintain the historic Tippecanoe County Courthouse, its grounds, and the Marquis de Lafayette fountain for which the fair is named. In recent years, the art fair committee has distributed more than $35,000 to provide grants to further arts education. Huge crowds on fair day have contributed to the community’s economic prosperity during the ongoing downtown renaissance. Fair proceeds also allow the committee to purchase works of art for the ’Round the Fountain Permanent Collection.

After more than three decades, thousands of artists, tens of thousands of art lovers, countless creations, and millions of memories, the ’Round the Fountain Art Fair flourishes.

As much as things change, the fair’s traditions endure — amazing artists, a beautiful site, enthusiastic and generous art patrons, supportive community members and business leaders, energetic volunteers, and fine art in abundance.

And the best is yet to come!

As always, we will work hard to ensure your success and enjoyment as a participant as we strive to meet the standard of excellence synonymous with the fair. Our traditions, your creations, community enthusiasm, and patrons’ appreciation of the fine arts promise to make the 2008 ’Round the Fountain Art Fair a very special day in May.
