A self-taught artist, Neil Kienitz's subject matter includes character studies, landscapes, still life and other areas he finds interesting. Working primarily in watercolor, he may also incorporate gouache, pastel, stabilo pencil and colored pencil into his paintings. He describes his style as romantic impressionism, often using representational form in as abstract design. A charter signature member of the Midwest Watercolor Society, Kienitz has twice received its highest honor, the Award of Excellence. He's received more than 90 other national and regional awards, and his work has been exhibited in 20 one-man shows and more than 200 art fairs. Numerous corporate and private collections contain his work. They include Amoco Oil, Wausau Insurance Co., Borg-Wamer Corp. and Marshall Field Co.
