""My paintings are
done in transparent
watercolor. The
paper is soaked for
half an hour or so,
and initial stages
worked directly
into the soaked
sheet. Then the
painting is allowed
to dry. Much later, I
gradually build up
the painting with
thin glazes or

Known for his unique space-time concepts and ethereal watercolors, Win Jones combines 19th century blurred apparitions with 20th century scenes, such as parks or airline terminals, and 21st century manifestations, such as computer codes. His major exhibits, where he's also won awards, include American Watercolor Society, Chicago Municipal Art League, Florida Watercolor Society, Louisiana Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Prints and Watercolors, and Watercolor U.S.A. Jones was a professor of art at Northern Illinois University from 1973 to 1993.
